What is it they say‚ if you can make it here you can make it anywhere? Now for someone born and raised in NYC I never thought that would be an issue. Of course I left 15 years ago and it is time I came back.
Enter the Nerd Craft Fair. On June 25th‚ 2016 at Discovery Times Square‚ a select group of vendors‚ hand-picked based on their Etsy shops‚ were invited to sell our wares to the masses who converge on this corner of the universe every day. It felt like a dream to be invited to the big show that is Broadway.
Ok‚ maybe I am exaggerating a little bit. But I was excited to participate. I mean‚ how often does an artisan who creates geek themed golf headcovers get to share the building with actual costumes from the Star Wars movies? It was pretty cool.
I came fully stocked with all my Star Wars golf club covers. I even spent part of the day knitting a brand new Poe Dameron design (still unfinished). You can tell I was inspired.
The Nerd Craft Fair went from 10 in the morning until 7 at night‚ a particularly long time compared to most events I have done. People kept coming through all day. Amazingly‚ most had come out just to see us!
New to the table where the screen grabs of my TV featured segment on CNBC’s Fast Money. People seemed to be super enthusiastic about that. And of course the Jon Snow Golf Head Cover.
I didn’t get to see my name in the bright lights of Broadway‚ but I was a part of the big show for one day. I guess that will have to be enough…. for now. See you again soon NYC‚ I’m coming for you!
