Sunday was the annual showing of The Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror”. Every year they take the time to parody current events and media in as gorey a way as possible. You may have not even noticed it, but in the end, the excess of the american public was in the flames.

Lisa: Halloween is over. Which means, America, it’s time to start your Christmas shopping. Infuse our stagnate economy with dollars we don’t really have.
Bart: And whatever you do, avoid the urge to make homemade gifts.
Marge: Knitting one sweater for someone costs twenty-seven Americans their jobs.

My husband slapped my hip and pointed at the TV. See? I was costing people jobs. I had to point out to him that I MAKE things then SELL them, so yes, people making sweaters for gifts instead of buying from me is costing jobs. Of course the happy compromise is people buying my patterns and knitting the items themselves, a win-win in my mind :)

Custom orders are a normal part of the business day for me. Since I am able to create headcovers in the colors of any football or baseball team, I often get requests for ones that are not currently in stock.

Batman is one of my most popular designs, and for good reason. He is so cute and is a favorite character to fanboys and movie-lovers alike. Now why have i not done a Robin before? I dont know, but a custom request for a Robin golf club cover has inspired me to make him part of my regular stock. Maybe I will even do a collection of Batman villans!

Do you have any designs you would love to see? Take a look at what’s in stock at Traceyknits and get inspired, them comment here with your ideas. I cant wait to see what you come up with!

Ever wonder what its like to knit one of my patterns? Now you can read all about it.
